Baseball - How to throw a changeup

There are two regrets I have about being a baseball pitcher in high school. First, I didn't take care of my body or eat well, so in my senior year I suffered a bad arm injury. Second, I didn't learn to throw a great changeup.

Basketball funny

I started laughing when I saw this picture on ESPN this morning. The Celtics player #11 suddenly breaks out into a dance while everyone else is playing an NBA playoff basketball game behind him:

The song "Y - M - C - A" suddenly comes to mind, lol.

"Found" money - buy an iPad, Kindle, Android, or other?

An interesting situation has come up where I suddenly have $600 coming to me in "found money". (It's not an IRS tax refund, but a similar "found money" situation.) Rather than just chuck it into the bank, I've been thinking about what to do with it. Get an iPad? An Android phone? A Kindle? Or since I don't currently own a tv, maybe a nice 32" flat panel?

The Google Chrome OS

Wow, last night Google announced a new project named the "Google Chrome Operating System" -- and it's not April 1st. Here's a brief blurb from their blog post:

Great quotes from Bill Cosby and Lucille Ball

I've been writing back and forth to a friend a lot lately, and we've been passing back and forth various famous quotes from history. I've been surprised at some of the quotes from Bill Cosby and Lucille Ball. I always thought of them as comedians, but they have some interesting things to say about life as well.

Here are a few quotes from Bill Cosby:

iTunes Question: Is there a way to control iTunes from the keyboard when using Mac OS X?

iPhone "Slide for Emergency" and "Activated" error messages

I'm not sure what I keep doing, but every once in a while when I turn on my iPhone 3G (after turning it off completely, i.e., a restart/reboot) I see a couple of different weird "error" messages. The first error message says, "Slide for emergency", and looks like this:

Want a usability expert? Try a kid.

I had to laugh a little bit about "usability experts" the last time I visited with my sister and her daughters. As I was creating a movie and a website with my nine-year old niece using iMovie and iWeb, we very quickly ran into several problems, including:

iPhone song rating - How to set a song rating on your iPod or iPhone

iPhone songs FAQ: Can I set or change the rating of an iTunes song on my iPhone or iPod?

Wow, I'm such an iPod/iPhone/Itunes dummy, I didn't realize that I could change the rating of a song from my iPhone until I dug into it a little bit. Here's a quick look at how to change the iTunes song rating from your iPhone/iPod.

Setting/changing an iPhone/iPod song rating

You can set the iTunes song rating directly from your iPhone (or iPod) when the song is playing.

Book publishing with Drupal

Cool ... for anyone interested in online book publishing, Drupal offers a "book" content type that does a lot of the "magic" of page linking for you, creating links like next, previous, and up. If you're collaborating on a book, it also offers access control and permission features, which is also very cool.
