Background: Founded way back in 1998, devdaily.com has over 2,000 online tutorials, and receives millions of page views every year, and in 2011 I'm giving away more prizes than ever before.

For December, instead of giving away the usual book, I'm giving away something we can all use: A $50 Amazon.com OR Barnes & Noble gift card.

But wait, there's more: Not only will I give away one gift card to Amazon or Barnes & Noble, but if a whole bunch of people sign up, I'll give away at least one more gift card. (So, tell your friends!)

To enter the contest, just sign up to receive our devdaily.com monthly newsletter, and you'll be automatically registered in our contest. As a bonus, you'll also be eligible to win future contests. (If you're wondering what my newsletters look like, here's a link to the last one I sent out, way back in June, 2011.)

You can sign up for the $50 Gift Card contest through midnight EST on December 20, 2011. One or more winners will be notified on December 21, 2011.

devdaily.com will not use your email address for any purposes other than to send out our monthly newsletter or notify you that you have won a contest. Our newsletter will be sent out once per month (or less often), and will contain links to our most interesting and popular new articles.

$50 Gift Card contest terms and conditions

Here are our simple contest terms and conditions:

Sign up to receive our monthly newsletter any time between now and December 20, 2011.
Sign up only once per email address that you have. (Duplicate email addresses, or variations of email addresses that can be created with tools like Postfix, will be removed from the system.)
The drawing to determine the winner of the Amazon.com gift card will be held the morning of December 21, 2011. You must still be on our newsletter mailing list at that time to be eligible to win.
One or more email addresses will be selected at that time. The contest winner(s) will be notified by email that they have won, and they must respond within three calendar days.
If you remain registered to receive our newsletter after this contest is over, you'll be automatically eligible to win future contests.
We use MailChimp.com as our mailing list management system. They won't send you anything, but you may see their name on our newsletter, or when you subscribe.
