Ugh ... Jack and David had lunch with two employees (non-partners) at lunch today, and as they were talking about this other company that was recently sold, when one of the employees said something (I don't know what), I'm told that Jack replied that “Every company is for sale at the right price.” While that may be true, that's not something that's going to give an employee a great feeling at any time, and I certainly didn't think it was something to say right now.
David and I were working together this afternoon, and when we were alone for a moment he told me about this, and I just cringed.
