PC with a USB connection
Finally, you'll also need a PC with a USB connection. On the v2.0 system that I'm using, a USB port is required to connect the infrared device.
Note that v1.0 worked with serial ports, while v2.0 (and presumably higher) will only work with the USB-style connection.
Once you have these things you're ready to get started writing some code.
