iPhone 3G iOS 4 performance - 4.1 update fixes problems

Dear Apple,

Thanks for the latest iOS 4.1 update. While that last iOS software update that caused my iPhone 3G to run extremely slow, hang, and crash will be a scar on Apple's reputation for a long time, my iPhone 3G running iOS 4 now seems fast once again. I want to write that it seems "very fast", but after living with that last poopy iOS update for so friggin' long, "fast" is a relative term.

iPhone 3G iOS4 performance problems update: Mr. Jobs said on August 19th an update was "coming soon." Fifteen long days of crashing iPhone apps and iPhone reboots, and still there is no update available. (Wait - an update has been promised for September 8, 2010.)

iPhone 3G iOS 4 performance issues

Immediately after I installed iOS4 on my iPhone 3G I reported that it seemed surprisingly fast. However, within two days, whatever pleasant surprise I felt about my iPhone 3G iOS performance came crashing down, and I do mean crashing.

The iPhone iBooks application, for example, crashes, a lot. Try to open a PDF in iBooks? Crash. Try to read a book? Crash. Time to wait for iBooks to open after you've downloaded 10 eBooks? I have no idea, I'm not that patient.

The Facebook app on my iPhone 3G w/ iOS 4? It crashes at least once out of every five startups.

I've had an Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 speaker system for almost half a year now, and I'm very pleased with it. It supports older iPods, like the iPod Nano I used to have; the sound quality is very good; and I love that it can run on either AC power (i.e., plugged into an electrical wall socket) or you can disconnect it and run it off the battery for a very long time -- it hasn't died on me yet during normal use.
