Scala needs a 'Java Ambassador'

I don’t want to name names, but after watching a recent “Intro to Scala” presentation at a Java User Group, I realized that the Scala community really needs an ambassador, someone (or maybe more than one person) to reach out and help Java developers cross the water, to let them know it’s safe on the other shore. The presentation I watched wasn’t very good; it had very little live coding, had several factual errors, and tended to the negative very easily (regarding advanced SBT issues, Scaladoc, compile times). There’s a lot to love in Scala, and that didn’t come across at all.

FWIW, this is how I introduce Scala:
