Interpreting The Output of "lpstat"

What does "scheduler is running" mean?

This is the Unix way of telling you that the process that schedules your print requests is actually running. For a variety of reasons it is possible that the scheduler may not be running. If for some reason the scheduler is not running, you'll need to let your system administrator know this. If the scheduler is not running, you will not be able to print.

What does "Sales accepting requests" mean?

At times, the system administrator will need to reject printer requests. This will normally occur when the printer needs to be serviced or there is a file system problem. If the print queue is rejecting requests, you will see a message like "Sales not accepting requests".

What does "enabled" mean?

The system administrator may also configure the printer subsystem such that it will accept your requests, but it will not print them. At this time the printer will be "disabled". The administrator may also do this when the printer is being serviced.
