There are some interesting comments on that page, but this comment by Mr. Pollack about Scala version problems is important:

"Typesafe still can't deliver a version of Scala that works with libraries that were compiled against older versions of Scala (see Scala's version fragility make the Enterprise argument near impossible ). This is a huge problem because it means that folks who want to use Scala 2.10 can't use libraries that were not compiled against 2.10. This should have been Typesafe's top priority."
