The Thinker, from a Sticks calendar alvin August 6, 2019 - 5:59pm

I recently bought a 2013 Sticks calendar in Boulder, Colorado, and it got me interested in the artist. This is another work from shulock.blogspot.com, a variation on The Thinker, by Rodin.

Santa Fe, New Mexico art museum sidewalk

This is a photo of a sidewalk in front of an art museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. (Sorry, I don’t remember the name of the museum and I’m too lazy atm to look it up.)

I applied a Gaussian Blur effect to the cars on the right and the bright stuff at the end of the corridor (using Gimp), and it’s amazing how much that makes the rest of the image “pop” out. Nothing else has been altered.

Each movement must be an art ~ B.K.S. Iyengar alvin March 5, 2019 - 10:39am

“Always stretch from the source, the core, the foundation of each asana. Keep your attention internal, not worrying about what others see, but what the Self sees. Each movement must be an art, an art in which the Self is the only spectator.”

B.K.S. Iyengar, Light on Life: The Yoga Journey (with a few minor edits by me)

Inkscape

I use Gimp to work on images all the time, but I was just reminded of Inkscape as a free tool for drawing and illustrating.
