Traveling to an old cathedral for training (a lucid dream)

Dream notes from June 27, 2017: As I feel asleep I was ripped out of my sleep body by some sort of lucid dream tractor beam, then pulled backwards through space. Eventually I came to um ... “somewhere” ... and when I turned my head to see where I was, I found I was being pulled towards a very large, old cathedral. The tractor beam continued to pull me butt-first, right through the closed front doors of the cathedral. Why open a door when you can go through it?

Inside, the tractor beam dropped me off at a spot near some stairs. Somehow I knew what I was supposed to do — this wasn’t punishment, it was a good thing — and I went with a group of other people up the stairs. I saw a few familiar faces and either said “Hey, how have you been?” to them, or nodded to acknowledge others who were farther away.

Walking up the stairs, a woman started talking to me. Most of it was in English, and then some words were in another language. I tried to tell her that the Universal Translator apparently wasn’t translating what she was saying, but to no avail. I remember that two words she said were, “sonó toma,” which Google translates in Spanish as “sleep takes.”

We all filed into a room where I saw a few more familiar faces. We sat in chairs like we were in college again, or more like we were attending a seminar. I thought that was funny, “A seminar for sleep travelers.” I hoped the speaker would be good. Or maybe it would be a series of TED talks for lucid dreamers. Those thoughts made me wonder who organized the event.

I won’t share the rest of what happened, but hopefully I’ll see you at the cathedral one day. :)

Dream of the night sky and a distance classroom

Had a fun dream overnight. At first I was laying here in my bed and having a hard time falling asleep, but at some point it switched to me laying on the floor, in the living room area but near the kitchen. Someone was in the kitchen, but it’s twelve hours later now and I can’t remember who. For a long time I laid there uncomfortably, thinking I was awake, but I was only awake in a lucid dream.

Then I felt the usual sensation that’s hard to describe — like you can feel that something is about to happen — and I was pulled away and out through the front wall of the apartment. I was flying, or at least levitating, looking up at the night sky. It was beautiful, and I could have stayed there for a long time.

Then I was pulled away again, eventually approached a tree, and then landed. Wherever this was, there was a building, and a number of other people were also arriving at the same time. We went inside, and a slightly older woman was trying to usher us into a room. It felt like it was some sort of classroom and she was going to teach us something.

Unfortunately I was rapidly whisked away and woke up in my bed. It was all a good time, but seeing the night sky like that was particularly amazing.

Dreams of flying with wires overhead

Many times when I have dreams of flying — I’m flying, there is no airplane or anything like that — I encounter wires overhead that I feel like I shouldn’t approach. (In the dream I usually assume these are power lines.)

After doing some research this morning, it turns out this is a common phenomenon. One person writes:

“The typical dream goes like this: I am flying; I encounter wires; I try to fly underneath them. Sometimes the dreamer gets caught in the wires; sometimes the wires form an insurmountable barrier. Some dreamers climb the wires; others walk the wires like a tightrope.”

I usually treat them as an insurmountable barrier, though when I have a lot of energy I have tried to work my way through them.

Either way, it’s kinda neat to see that other people encounter the same thing.

“Wrong eyes”

“Wrong eyes.”

~ What I told myself during a lucid dream on March 2, 2011. I was flying, and when things got dark as I flew higher I thought, “Open your eyes,” only to find myself staring at the bedroom ceiling while still dreaming.

Jumping off of buildings and balconies

In dreams at night I jump off of buildings and balconies because it’s the fastest way to get to my next destination. I have to remember not to do the same thing during the day.

If iPhones were made of gravitons (dreams)

I went to bed last night thinking that it would be cool if iPhones were made of gravitons configured to your body’s unique vibrational frequency, so if your phone was in the kitchen while you were sitting on the couch, you could hold your hand out and the phone would come flying over to you. (Pity anything between you and your phone, and I don’t know how the gravitons were configured to only activate on demand, rather than being in constant orbit around your body (or stuck to your body)).

Then in a dream in Santa Fe this morning I was driving along and realized that I needed to change lanes very quickly to make the turn from St. Francis onto Cerillos Road. From what I can gather, I did that so fast that I flew into another reality. I ended up in a forest where I first came upon some combination of a gorilla and a bear that was walking upright through the forest. Fortunately it was wearing a breathing mask of some sort and I thought, “It’s not threatening, it’s just out for a walk.” Then a skunk as large as a car came walking down the road. It freaked me out, and I quickly thought of that bear-gorilla’s breathing mask, but the skunk was actually quite pleasant and just wanted to be petted. A large four-legged animal was flying in the sky above me, but cows the shape of giraffes (and twice their size) inside 30-40' tall chain-link fences had my attention, especially when they all came over to the fence in anticipation that I might feed them.

After a few more quirky sightings, I arrived at my destination and went to get my dogs some water. The water came out of a fountain normally, but then when it hit my clasped hands it become a consistency thicker than jello. This was convenient, because it let me carry a large “bowl” of water over to my dogs, who were really thirsty. They initially thought they had to bite the water, but then they learned that they could lick it normally.

After that things got a little weird. (I don’t know words in the English language that I can use to describe most of what happened next, though there was a lot of telekinesis, and a few beings were training me in the possibilities of what *could* be done, as opposed to the limited set of things I normally do in the dream state.)

My planet is destroyed by a black hole alvin March 2, 2012 - 9:02am

(These are notes from a dream. I don’t remember how, but somehow I know that the time in the dream is 3:40am. The date is March 2, 2012.)

I’ve been watching a tv show, and I’m stunned that the main character in the show has just died. What’s going to happen to the show? There’s a knock on the door. A woman is looking for someone, and only mentions her name by initials. I call out to my wife, who was also watching the show. She says she’s not here right now, come back later.

As the woman leaves, I step outside with her, and bask in the early morning sunshine. How great it is to enjoy an early morning sunrise like this. Wait, should it be sunny now? Am I in Alaska?
