Ram Dass, Buddha, Maharaj-ji, and Yoda on non-duality

Inspired by a conversation with a friend recently about “trying to love everyone,” I dug into things a little more and found the following information from Ram Dass, Zen masters, the Maharaj-ji (Neem Karoli Baba), and Yoda.

As I keep trying to figure out what Ram Dass means when he says, “love everyone,” I dug through his book, be love now and found these two quotes:

He just reset our karmic destiny

“I have no idea who that guy was, but I know that he just reset our karmic destiny.”

(A quote from the book, Love Everyone, that makes me wonder how many times our karmic destiny is reset and we don’t notice it.)

When you’re feeling enlightened, slap yourself in the face

There are times when you’re meditating really hard and you start to have some feeling of enlightenment. You walk around and think, “La la la la la, I’m feeling pretty good about how I’m feeling, la la la la la.” When that happens, the best thing you can do is slap yourself in the face really hard, or have someone else do it for you.
