Being an older person, I find young people interesting. One night when I was in the hospital last week I was supposed to be asleep, but couldn’t sleep, and I heard a nurse’s assistant who is still in college say, “If I had a bat, I’d rage on this wall.” That’s definitely not a phrase an older person would use.

Mac OS X 10.9 has been sucking the life out of my old Mac, a 2008 iMac, so I decided to look into ways of bringing life back to my Mac. One way I just wrote about is how to disable the OSX Dashboard. Another way I’m experimenting with is the Mac OS X =purge= command.
A young girl working in a doctor’s office was kind enough to refer to me as an “old guy” a few days ago. Yesterday I watched the first Firefly episode and laughed when I saw Shepherd Book referred to as “grandpa” several times. (“I never married,” he muttered in reply to Kaylee.)
