stress

Control what I can control and move on from there

A lot of people seem to create/self-inflict a lot of stress in their own lives, and that’s based on how they perceive situations. In that regard I like this quote by Broncos backup quarterback Kevin Hogan:

“Control what I can control and move on from there.”

“Help, I’m stressed”

It’s almost comical how many people tell me they feel stressed, but they won’t even try yoga or meditation.

(They tell me they’re stressed/anxious/worry-a-lot, I seem relaxed, and ask how I do it. I tell them “yoga and meditation,” but apparently they don’t like that answer.)

Today I escaped anxiety

“Today I escaped anxiety. Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions — not outside.”

~ Marcus Aurelius

Buddha was asked, “What have you gained from meditation?”

Buddha was asked, “What have you gained from meditation?”

He replied, “Nothing!” Then he continued, “However, let me tell you what I have lost: anger, anxiety, depression, insecurity, and fear of old age an death.”
