"Do your job (today)"

On a local sports talk radio program today, Chad Brown said that Bill Belichick used to say, “Do your job”, or “Just do your job.” Chad Brown said that he preferred, “Do your job today,” which helped him put his focus and emphasis on today and the current moment. He didn’t think about tomorrow or the next, just the current play, or what he wanted to achieve today. Some times people who run projects put a lot of stress on developers by talking about tomorrow, next week, next month, etc., and I think it’s important that when you’re writing code to just think about one bug or one new feature at a time, to not worry about tomorrow.
