I used to think that driving 8-10 hours in a day was a long drive. Since I moved to Colorado from Alaska, I’ve made at least 6-8 round trip drives from Colorado to Kentucky, or Colorado to Illinois. The Illinois drive is almost 17 hours, and the Kentucky drive is over 18 hours. From the drives, I’ve learned that what I think is “difficult” is a matter of perspective, or comparison.
I woke up to the idea that I could handle a 17-hour drive when I drove from Deadhorse, Alaska (Prudhoe Bay, basically) to Talkeetna in 17 hours. Ever since then, I knew that this was “possible”.
