A few days ago I was driving back from the hospital and took a series of photos of the Moon over the Rocky Mountains from this rural area of Erie and Longmont, Colorado. This is the first photo.

Somewhere in the Erie/Longmont area yesterday (November 2, 2020), I caught this photo of a hawk flying along a farm, with the Rocky Mountains in the background. As you can see, the sky was perfectly clear yesterday, which is a nice change after all of the fires this summer.

Today was a bit of a sad day, saying goodbye to some people I’ve known for the last nine years. So I’ve been listening to Chasing Cars, sung by Sarah Bettens.

This short video on Twitter shows the depth of the “front range” of the Rocky Mountains here around Denver and Boulder, Colorado. When you look at them from the ground you can’t get that depth perspective, so this is really a great view.

If you ever visit the Boulder, Colorado area you’ll hear of the “flatirons.” Many stores and businesses are named after them. This is them.
Registered for gas and electric yesterday in the new town I’ll be living in, about 60 miles south of Wyoming.
Reminded me of moving to the cabin in Talkeetna and trying to figure out where I had to register for everything then. (Turned out it was all an hour south with the MEA and MTA in Wasilla and Palmer.)
Tonight’s brown sunlight, thanks to some wildfires in the Rocky Mountains west and south of Boulder, Colorado.
Sadly, cases of COVID-19 are sharply on the rise in Colorado. I know that MANY people at my apartment complex don’t wear masks as they walk around, swim in the pool, and exercise, so this isn’t a huge surprise.

Kind of a weird situation: I’ve been thinking about moving lately, and that led to the thought that if a doctor told me I only had six months left to live, I know where I would live. But I generally like a lot of things about Colorado, so I live here. Hmm...
