Summary

The "vi" editor is the standard UNIX editor. It is a very powerful editor, but it is not very intuitive.

"vi" has three basic modes:

  1. Command mode
  2. Input mode
  3. Last line mode

When you first enter the "vi" editor, you are in command mode.
