Configuring an SCO OpenServer 5 system as a TCP/IP Print Server

1. Log in as root.

2. Start the SCOadmin tool:

scoadmin

3. Select Printers, then Printer Manager

4. Select System | Print Services ..

5. Check the box to enable "Remote UNIX Print Service Enabled" if it is not already checked, then select "OK".

6. You may be prompted "You need to configure remote printing. Do so now?". Select "OK".

7. Return to the main introductory screen of the SCOadmin tool by selecting "Host | Exit", then selecting "[..] /Printers" on the next screen.

8. Select Networks from the main menu

9. Select User Equivalence Manager from the following screen. The system may prompt that "There is no equivalence file for root. Create?". Select Yes.

10. Select User | Add Equivalence from the following menu.

11. At the Add a User menu, fill in the details for the "Remote host" and "Remote user".

12. Select File | Exit. You are prompted to save the equivalence file. Select Yes.

13. Choose File | Exit again to exit the SCOadmin tool.
