Step 5: Calculate the Adjusted Function Point CountThe final step in our five-step process is to determine the Adjusted Function Point Count. For initial application counts such as ours, this is easily determined with the following equation: Adjusted FP Count = Unadjusted FP Count * VAF As you saw in the previous section, the VAF can vary from 0.65 to 1.35, so the VAF exerts an influence of +/- 35% on the final Adjusted FP Count. Since we're not going to come up with a value for the VAF in this paper, we also will not have a number for the Adjusted FP Count. As you can see, however, this is very easy and straightforward. (I tried to save the easiest step for last. :)
