Step 5: Calculate the Adjusted Function Point CountThe final step in our fivestep process is to determine the Adjusted Function Point Count. For initial application counts such as ours, this is easily determined with the following equation: Adjusted FP Count = Unadjusted FP Count * VAF As you saw in the previous section, the VAF can vary from 0.65 to 1.35, so the VAF exerts an influence of +/ 35% on the final Adjusted FP Count. Since we're not going to come up with a value for the VAF in this paper, we also will not have a number for the Adjusted FP Count. As you can see, however, this is very easy and straightforward. (I tried to save the easiest step for last. :)
