Introduction

In my previous tutorial ("How to Create a Podcast with GarageBand") I showed you how to create a basic podcast, using just your own voice recordings. In this tutorial I'll show you how to add some more complicated features to a podcast, including introductory music, multiple audio clips, and using sound effects in your recordings.

Here's a quick summary of what we're going to do in this tutorial:

  1. We'll make a few changes to the GarageBand environment so we can easily add pre-built sounds to our podcast.
  2. We'll start our podcast with a little introductory music.
  3. We'll add a voice recording to the podcast, and learn how to set the gap between the introductory music and our voice recording.
  4. We'll add other sound effects to make our podcast interesting.
  5. We'll learn how to play back our podcast, starting at any time marker.
  6. We'll learn about the concept of ducking.

If you're ready, let's begin.
