westword.com interview with Alfred Williams

westword.com has this great interview with Alfred Williams. He’s a former football player who played at the University of Colorado, and then played for the Broncos at the end of his career, helping them win two Super Bowls. These days he’s on the radio, and he’s great to listen to in the afternoon. He seems like a really nice guy, and I’ve wondered how he gets along with his radio partner, who occasionally doesn’t seem like a nice guy, and the article touches on that.

Receiving radio stations for hundreds of miles

I was driving in western Kentucky around four o’clock on Friday morning, and I was able to get in radio stations from Arkansas, Iowa, Chicago, Cleveland, and Atlanta. That was pretty cool.

D-Mac on 104.3 The Fan: “To be honest with you ...”

There’s a guy on a local radio station (104.3 The Fan) named Darren McKee (who guys by the name “D-Mac”), and he constantly uses a phrase that drives me crazy:

“To be honest with you ...”

As I wrote in my book, A Survival Guide for New Consultants, you should never use that phrase.

Why? Because using it for some sentences implies that you aren’t being honest with every other sentence that comes out of your mouth.

Where is Sandy Clough? (Denver sports radio, The Fan)

Update: July 20, 2016: According to the link I share below, Sandy Clough will be returning to 104.3 The Fan this coming Monday in a new time slot: 10am to noon, a time slot he occupied when I first moved to the Denver area. He will be replacing Cecil Lammey in that time slot, and much to my chagrin it appears that CJ and Stokley will continue in the noon-3pm time slot.
