The drive back from Golden, Colorado

Here’s a photo I took on the drive back from Golden today of some cattle on the right and wrong side of the fence, a big field, and some mountains. (Click the small image to see the full size image.)

The best of Colorado wines

Boulder Weekly has an article titled, The best of Colorado wines. From the article:

“The judges mentioned that they couldn’t tell which ones were the Colorado wines and which ones were the French and the California wines. … They said all the wines were very polished,” says Ulla Merz, co-owner of Bookcliff Vineyards based in Boulder.

Kepler spacecraft built by a Boulder, Colorado company

I just read that the Kepler spacecraft was built by Ball Aerospace out of Boulder, Colorado. Here are a couple of lines from that story:

“This isn’t the first time the 7-year-old Ball Aerospace-built Kepler has cheated death. Controllers managed to keep the spacecraft working a few years ago, despite repeated breakdowns. But Kepler had never suffered an emergency like this before last week. The University of Colorado’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics is responsible for Kepler’s mission operations.”

The Ball Aerospace website has this page about the K2/Kepler mission.
