Taking a break from my regularly scheduled technical writing, if you ever wondered what the weather was like in Alaska in the winter, I just wrote a short post about an 80-mph winter wind storm that hit Wasilla, Alaska yesterday. All the winter weather you might expect: 80-mph winds pulling snow off the mountains and pelting the town; wind chill temperatures down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit; blinded by the resulting snow storm; and snow blown into piles on the roads that you can't see until you hit them.
A funny thing was Tweeting about the weather and expecting Jim Cantore to be here, and he wrote back that he's just down the road in British Columbia; awesome.
