I probably spend about 10 hours a year looking at data related to website visitors, and today was one of those days where I gave it 15 minutes of time. Here’s a quick look at the data.
This first image shows what browsers the visitors are using:
I write mostly about Open Source and Macs, so if IE is a little lower than usual, it may be because of that.
This image shows the number of people using desktop, mobile, and tablet clients:

The big surprise for me is that Android devices aren’t listed higher, especially because a lot of this website is about Java and Scala, two languages that run on the JVM, and I’ve also written a few Android tutorials. The second surprise is that almost 20% of website visitors are using phones and tablets; I seriously need to improve the look and feel of this site for those visitors.
Nothing else in the data really surprises me, but I like to look at it from time to time to see if anything will surprise me.
