Just a few days ago I wrote about my concerns about crime at Champion Farms (an apartment complex in Louisville, Kentucky), and then last night someone did a hit and run job on my car. I just came back from the auto body repair shop, and they said it will cost more than $800 to fix my car, plus a car rental. Of course the 'neighbor' who hit my car didn't bother to knock on my door or leave me a note.
Man, this neighborhood pisses me off.
I'm going to do some research about Champion Farms crime on the Louisville Metro police website this weekend and see what stats I can find. (Keeping in mind that reported statistics are only a portion of the actual crime. For instance, if I don't manually fill out a Civilian Traffic Collision Report myself and then mail it into the state of Kentucky, this hit and run crime on my car will go unreported.)
As I mentioned in my other story, in my opinion, this neighborhood just keeps getting louder and louder, and in addition to coming home to a parking lot filled with police cars several times, I have noticed that the Louisville police now drive through the parking lot on a regular basis.
I'm really concerned about Champion Farms. If you are concerned about your own safety and security, I can't recommend that you live here right now. I plan on moving away from Louisville shortly, but if for some reason I decided to stay in Louisville, I will move out of Champion Farms when my lease expires.
