Just a quick note today that if you're interested in a source for over 30,000 free eBooks, there's a website named Project Gutenberg that specializes in making "free ebooks to read on your PC, iPhone, Kindle, Sony Reader or other portable device". I keep forgetting about them, and was reminded of them this morning, so I thought I'd share this link here today.
According to the Project Gutenberg main page, "We carry high quality items: Our books were previously published on paper by bona fide publishers and digitized by us with the help of thousands of volunteers."
Free eBooks and copyright laws
The Project Gutenberg site also has this following disclaimer on their main page:
Our books are free in the United States because their copyright has expired. They may not be free in other countries. Readers outside of the United States must check the copyright laws of their countries before downloading or redistributing our ebooks.
I don't know anything about the copyright laws of other countries, so I thought I better share that here as well.
Over 100,000 free eBooks through partners
Finally, I just read another note on their main page that says they have over 100,000 free ebooks available through their "partner" pages. You can find their ebook partner pages at this link.
