Summary: A look at iPad base stands.
For a while now I've been interested in finding an iPad stand that I can use in my kitchen. The idea is simple: If you're cooking something healthy, it takes a little time, so I'd like to be able to put my iPad in a stand and listen to Pandora or a show on Netflix while I'm cooking, or cleaning the dishes.
Here are a couple of ideas I ran across while looking around. First, something called the Klick Desk Stand for iPad 2:
Next, a Stabile Coil Pro, which has a flexible base, like the snake light systems that become popular a few years back:
The same company makes a product named a Stabile Pro, which looks like the base of a modern iMac:
For some reason nobody has made what I want, which is something that has the base of a 2002 iMac G4, with an iPad on top:
To that end, I just bought an old, inexpensive iMac G4, and I'm going to see what I can do to make an iPad stand out of it. I haven't figured out how to do that just yet :) but I like the base stand design enough that I want to give this a shot.
