True Christian Voting 2024: Fear of going to Hell, the Rapture, the Ten Commandments, and your soul

Dear Fellow Christian Voters,

It’s now September, 2024, and I’ve spent a lot of time with a man who is 85+ years old, and is a true devout Christian. At church he ushers people to their seats, and volunteers at all the church events, volunteering two days a week at the local food pantry. He’s come to know that he’s going to pass away in the next 10 or 20 years, and his number one concern in life is that he doesn’t want to go to Hell.

Now you may not be in your 80s or thinking about death, but I can tell you that he is, and he doesn’t want to spend eternity in Hell.

I have another relative who is a devout Christian, and she watches Fox News a lot, and her number one concern is that The Rapture is coming, and she doesn’t want to be left behind.

Being a True Christian, and the 2024 Presidential Election

What does this have to do with the 2024 Presidential Election?

To me it has to do with True Christian values, and at least one of the candidates. I was trying to think of different ways to describe this, but in my opinion, the best way to do this is to look at The Ten Commandments as a sounding board. Specifically, I saw a Facebook post that showed that Mr. Trump has potentially violated 9 of the 10 commandments. The post noted that the only one that he has clearly not violated is “Thou shalt not kill.”

The Ten Commandments and the 2024 Presidential Candidates

For your reference, here is a table of The Ten Commandments and the 2024 Presidential candidates:

Commandment Donald Trump Kamala Harris
You shall have no other gods before Me
You shall not make idols
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy
Honor your father and your mother
You shall not murder
You shall not commit adultery
You shall not steal
You shall not bear false witness
You shall not covet

Note that the Commandments in the first column are abbreviated to fit in that table, but I assume that you know what they are.

I believe you can look at that table and easily think of the commandments that Mr. Trump has possibly violated, and certainly violated. You can also look at the second column and decided for yourself which Ms. Harris may have violated.

Politicians who wave The Bible around

On a personal note — and I’ve written this before — is that one thing that upsets me greatly is when politicians hold a Bible in their hand and then do things that are completely un-Christian.

As Jesus said, “By their fruits, you will know them,” which I interpret as, “DEEDS, not WORDS.”

True Christians, the 2024 Presidential Election, and saving your soul

I could write much, much more here, but my personal opinion is that if:

  1. You don’t want to go to Hell, or
  2. Be left behind in The Rapture

a True Christian certainly cannot vote for a person who has potentially violated 9 of 10 commandments.

In my opinion, if for some reason you can’t bring yourself to vote for Ms. Harris, then maybe the best thing you can do to save your soul is to not vote at all. Just sit this one out, and as usual, pray.

(As always, I’ll also add that you should only trust Jesus Christ, The Bible, and yourself when making a voting decision like this.)
